FBI director Christopher Wray cast doubt on whether Donald Trump was hit by a bullet during the attempted assassination at the Butler rally in Pennsylvania on 13 July.

Christopher Wray made the statement while updating Congress about the assassination attempt on Trump on Wednesday, 24 July.

Wray mentioned there is some question about whether it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit Trump's ear.

Wray noted uncertainty about whether the bullet, in addition to causing the grazing, could have landed somewhere else.

The gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, killed firefighter Corey Comperatore and injured two others, including Trump.
