Two people were arrested on January 18, 2025, for impersonating firefighters and attempting to enter an evacuation zone around the Palisades fire.

The individuals were using a truck labeled for the 'Roaring River Fire Department' in Oregon, which does not exist.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported that the pair were wearing firefighters' personal protective equipment and Cal Fire T-shirts underneath.

The truck used by the impersonators was purchased at an auction and has been impounded by authorities.

In total, three people have been arrested for impersonating firefighters, and two others for impersonating journalists in the area.
