Russian state broadcaster VGTRK experienced an attack that disrupted all online broadcasting and internal services, including Russia-1 and Russia-24.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the attack and stated that specialists were investigating the responsible parties.

The hacker group 'sudo rm -RF' was reported by Gazeta.ru to be behind the attack, which is linked to Ukraine.

VGTRK's press service acknowledged the hack but stated that no significant damage was caused and operations were back to normal.

A Ukrainian official, speaking anonymously, suggested the attack was a birthday message to President Putin, claiming extensive data destruction.
