William Hoesch, a 71-year-old cyclist, was struck by a Columbia River Fire & Rescue ambulance in October 2022, resulting in a fractured nose and other injuries.

Hoesch has filed a $997,000 lawsuit against the ambulance provider, which includes $900,000 for pain and suffering and $97,000 for medical expenses.

The ambulance provider billed Hoesch $1,862 for the ambulance ride to the hospital after the accident.

The incident occurred in Rainier, Oregon, as the ambulance was making a right turn and collided with Hoesch, who was traveling in the same direction.

Columbia River Fire & Rescue and Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. have not commented on the lawsuit.
