A German man drove a vehicle into a crowd in Mannheim, Germany, killing at least two people and injuring others.

The incident occurred near a parade marking the Christian Carnival season on Rose Monday.

Police arrested a 40-year-old German suspect from Rhineland-Palatinate and stated there was no political motivation assumed.

Five people were seriously injured, and five others suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing a black SUV driving at high speed from the parade area, hitting people.
