Luigi Mangione is accused of killing UnitedHealthcare's CEO, Brian Thompson, on December 4, 2024, in New York City.

The court proceedings for Mangione have been delayed until mid-February 2025 to allow both parties more time for preparation.

Mangione has been charged with murder and firearms counts at the federal level and has pleaded not guilty to state charges, including murder as an act of terrorism.

The decision on whether to pursue the death penalty in Mangione's case will be made by the Justice Department in Washington.
